First artists announced!
It is with great joy that we now present the first couple of artists performing at the GAS FEST 2011. As we’ve previously announced the festival will be held over two days between May 7th-8th and we are incredibly pleased with this years line-up.
All in all we will present roughly 20 artists and below here you’ll find presentations over a few of them:
Machinefabriek [NL]
Machinefabriek is perhaps one of the most prolific artists of our time and since 2004 he has released more than 80 records. He has previously played in Japan, Turkey, Canada, Israel and in various European countries and collaborated with artists such as Stephen Vitiello, Peter Broderick, Steve Roden and Xela.
Andrea Belfi [IT]
Andrea Belfi combines percussion with electronics in a remarkable fashion. He has previously performed with David Grubbs, Stefano Pilia, Ignaz Schick and Machinefabriek. He released the album Between Neck & Stomach on Häpna in 2006.
Jan Bang [NO]
In addition to being one of the founders of the very influential Punkt Festival in Norway, Jan Bang is also a prominent musician who has evolved the techniques of live-remixing into a true art form. He has previously worked with artists such as Jon Hassel, David Sylvian, Brian Eno, Sidsel Endresen, Nils Petter Molvaer and Arve Henriksen.
Nina de Heney [SE]
Nina is an amazingly talented double-bassist with a solid reputation within the experimental improv scene. Her music is both forceful and fragile all at the same time. During winter 2011 she released her third solo album Three on Found You Recordings.
Dimitrios K [SE]
Dimitrios K is a legendary DJ from Gothenburg who has been active since 1998. Dimitrios is the man responsible for clubs such as Dunk, RA, Hotet and Kraft. It’s personal, it’s hard and it’s electronic. Dimitrios K is a wall of energy.
